Historic Restoration
If you wish to control the future, study the past.
In the past, outdated and functionally obsolete buildings were routinely demolished. Today however, such buildings are increasingly being restored and renovated, often for functions much different than that for which they were originally designed. This is rarely accomplished without structural restoration and repair.
Lawson Elser, Inc. has extensive experience with all aspects of structural problems related to restoration of historic buildings. We have been involved with hundreds of investigation, restoration and renovation projects involving historic buildings. Our experience includes all aspects of the building structure including the primary load-carrying system, the exterior façade, and the foundation.
We have the capability to provide a Structural Investigation into all type of historic structures, evaluate their structural condition, determine existing capacity, and recommend structural repairs or modifications as needed.
Our experience includes all types of construction and materials including concrete, steel, timber, masonry, pre-cast and post-tensioned concrete. We have designed structural repairs for deterioration ranging from minor damage to full structural collapse.
